Classified as white and red, Château Carbonnieux has belonged to the Perrin family since 1956, today represented by Eric and Philibert Perrin. Located in Léognan, south of Bordeaux, the property covers a gravel ridge on clay-calcareous subsoil. The 50 hectares in red are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (30%) and Cabernet Franc, while 42 hectares are dedicated to Sauvignon (65%) and Sémillon white wines. The red wines from Château Carbonnieux have become essential in the cellar of any self-respecting wine enthusiast! They open with beautiful cherry notes mixed with a mineral note in a decidedly classic style. The estate’s white wines are also of very good quality: elegant and lively, with clear notes of lemon and white pepper. The estate produces a second white and red wine, La Croix de Carbonnieux, as well as a rosé of the same name.
