Château Grand-Puy Lacoste embodies the classic Grand Pauillac. Carried by its energetic and upright profile thanks to an exceptional tannic structure – old Cabernet-Sauvignon vines for 75% of the vineyard – the wine reveals its softness and fabulous aromatic complexity over time with nuances of black currants, spices… Perched on the surface. The gravel and clay plateau of Grand-Puy, the estate has not expanded its vineyard – 58 hectares in production – since the cru classification in 1855. This partly explains the consistent quality of the wines over the decades, while the work the immense Borie family did the rest upon its arrival in 1978. The second wine, Lacoste Borie, makes a perfect introduction to the Grand-Puy Lacoste style.
