Born in the mid-17th century, the 2nd Cru Classé Léoville Las Cases is well known to aficionados for its incredible qualitative regularity and formidable aromatic complexity. The latter is due to the mosaic of varied terroirs from which the great wine originates: these 53 precious hectares called “le Clos” north of Saint-Julien, adjacent to Château Latour, are actually dedicated to the production of Cru Classé. Jean-Hubert Delon is the sole owner of the vineyard since 2011. He entrusted the management to Jean-Guillaume Prats (former director of Lafite Rothschild) in 2022. Made from mostly Cabernet-Sauvignon (80%), Léoville Las Cases wine always has a color very dark, the color of ink, characteristic of vintage. Class, depth, density, but also the nobility of tannins and sumptuous fruit are its great qualities, without forgetting an almost unlimited aging potential. Recently, a second wine was created, Le Petit Lion du Marquis de Las Cases.
